I’m Leone Moretti, the founder and owner-operator of USA Pro Floors LLC. I started this company in 2010 with one simple rule: I refuse to run a flooring business I wouldn’t hire. That means I’m personally on-site for every hardwood installation, every refinishing job, every tile layout — not a sales rep, not a project manager, not a subcontractor I met last week. Me.
Before USA Pro Floors I spent years apprenticing under old-school flooring mechanics across Maryland and the DMV. Guys who still cut in stair nosings by hand, still sand to bare wood instead of scuff-and-recoat, still read moisture meters before a single plank comes out of the box. That’s the standard we run on — because cheap shortcuts on a hardwood floor show up two seasons later as cups, gaps, and squeaks, and I’d rather lose the job than build one I’d have to come back and fix.

Prep matters. Eighty percent of what separates a floor that looks great for twenty years from one that looks tired in two is what happens before the first plank goes down. We moisture-meter every subfloor, flatten high spots, screw down squeaks, and lay vapor barriers where the slab calls for it. If prep gets rushed, the finish doesn’t save it.
Dust matters. Sanding a hardwood floor kicks up enough dust to fill every return vent and every cabinet in your house if you let it. We don’t. Every sander we run is vacuum-equipped at the drum. You get your home back cleaner than the crew found it — every time, no extra charge.
Finish matters. Oil-based polyurethane goes on amber and lasts. Water-based dries fast and stays clear. Hardwax oil feels warmer underfoot but asks for more maintenance. There’s no “best” finish — there’s the right one for your wood, your traffic, and how you live. We’ll tell you which one that is, and why, before you write a check.
